Hello World!

My name is Stanimir and I’ve been creating software for over a decade.

During 2023 I took a gap year that I dedicated to exploring my interests in technology and business. During this time I sketched a lot of notes that were intended for personal use which I decided to share more broadly.

Here’s a brief intro on the first few topics.

• In White Paper Summaries you’ll find a collection of summaries from technical white papers I’ve read. I commonly use these as references when I remember a specific problem that was faced and how it was addressed by a specific system.
• As the title says, in Software development principles and philosophies you’ll find many tenets that were followed by the teams to build the specific systems mentioned in the summaries.
• Distributed System Trends 2010-2024 is intended to summarize larger trends that I’m observing in the industry.
• In Applied distributed system design patterns you’ll find an inverted index of distributed system patterns and techniques to the systems that use them.

Many of the documents are intended to be updated and will get better with time.
